Grace Fellowship Church in downtown Riverside has transformed its Saturday morning program into one of the region’s most impactful community outreach initiatives. What began five years ago as a small food pantry serving a handful of families has grown into a full-scale food distribution ministry that now reaches more than 500 households every single week.
“We never imagined it would grow like this,” said Pastor Michael Torres, who helped launch the program. “But God keeps sending volunteers and donations, and the need in our community keeps reminding us that this is exactly where the church is called to be.” The ministry operates through a network of more than 80 trained volunteers who sort, pack, and distribute groceries every Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The church is currently seeking additional volunteers and monetary donations to expand into a second location across town. Anyone wishing to serve or contribute can visit the church website or contact the outreach office directly. This is the church being the hands and feet of Jesus — one family at a time.
